ERs sore throats and panic attacks.

First of all, let me say, Happy 2013! We survived my 29th birthday! Nothing happened on 12/21/12 and we can relax.

Mom  has Jury Duty in the morning and that means guess who has to get her brother ready to catch his bus to work? Amethyst Wildcat that's who. Hopefully Justin doesn't throw too much of a fit. The guy isn't really a morning person
This was taken at Justin's 21st birthday party last September.

Well aside from the the family news, I haven't been feeling too well. For the past few weeks I've been having a sore throat that goes away and comes back. I think it's one of my chief complaints at the Chico State Health Center. Not only that my roomies both have the same ailment. and it's interfereing with our lives. So the three of us went to the ER. We arrived there at 3:06 and I was seen at 5:37 pm by a doctor who wondered just how long I was willing to wait to be seen. I had been Lizzie's moral support for the times she had been a patient. I'm a little upset that she chose to stay with Rini when she was seen about an hour after I was discharged.

I honestly thought they were going to give me a test to see what was wrong, all the doctor did was take a look at my throat and write a prescription for antibiotics and cough drops. I was out at about 6 pm.
Rini was called back near 6:30 pm and once she and Lizzie left, the ER suddenly felt very crowded. I was alone in a room with crying children and coughing people. One young girl really wanted to go home I WANTED OUT OF THERE! More and more people were coming in with emergencies, I contemplated calling mom and begging her to come and pick me up. I fled to the cafeteria just to try to get away from the crowd. My plan was to escape the crowd and get a semibalance of normalicy. Once I was calmer I would be able to wait for them to be discharged. That didn't really work. I was starving and feeling slightly naeusious. I was having a panic attack, yes it is irrational looking back on it, but at the time I felt like a caged animal. I wish I had had my Phoenix Wright game just so I could play it. Hey, It worked when I had Jury Duty. May mom's DA be nicer than mine was.

I fled to the cafeteria and at first read a newspaper, I was getting desperate to kill some time. That was around 7:30 pm. I went back a few minutes later and stayed there for a few minutes reading a story on my Kindle Fire. The story was really romantic and a bit NC-17. At around 8 pm I went back to the ER, Just seeing the crowd of people and the SRO of the situation I panicked. I don't know why, but I love Anime Cons, the crowds at those events are fine. However crowded busses and ERs make me panic.

As I was sitting in the crowded ER with people packed like sardines, we heard the sounds of a helicopter as it landed on the helipad. I went outside with some other people and watched it land, or try to watch it land as it was nearly 9 pm.

Rini was released at 9:26 pm and we left to go through the drive through at Mickey D's for dinner. Those chicken nuggets never tasted so good. As the late Anne McCaffery once said "when you're hungry enough, even tunnel snake tastes good."

Hopefully I won't have to go back to the ER for a while.

OBJECTION! Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies

First of all, let me state that this game looks very intriguing and I can't wait to add it to my 3DS. All I can hope for is that Capcom DOESN'T treat this game like it treated Rockman DASH 3 (Megaman Legends 3)  Yesterday I woke up and while browsing the Ask Ace Attorney blog on Tumblr and on a post someone asked the mod if they had seen this   the trailer for the English version of Ace Attorney 5.  I had to watch it a few times to realize that I'm not dreaming. This game is coming to the 3DS! Even though the reason I bought my 3ds originally was so that I could play Megaman Legends 3, but we all know how Capcom treated that particular 3DS title.  One of the main differences is that it's in 3D instead of the traditional 2d anime-ish sprites.  Although isn't                                voiced b...

back to campus

Warning this blog is written from the point of a very stressed out older college student, and might not be read by viewers. This blog might be a little ranty at times. Well, it's back to campus time again and already I think my academic career is in jeopardy. For one thing, I'm waitlisted for two classes, and no one has dropped from the classes. I'm waitlisted for "Basic Advertising Copywriting" and "Intro to Media Production" I'm at positions 1 & 6 respectively. I'm waiting to buy the books until after I am enrolled in the classes. I'm currently in Portfolio review and Philosophy of Science and I don't understand how the either/or system works. The classes start at 12:30 pm. (a little over an hour from now, as of this writing) I currently have 4 units, so I don't have fin aid. Which is a BIG problem and why I'm desperately waiting to get in to the classes. I hope I pass Portfolio Review because if I do, I'll drop the ...

When it comes to the Power Rangers,

The Zordon fanpage on Facebook is holding a contest and it's to answer the question What emotionally attached you to the Power Rangers show and Why do you love it so much? That got me to blushingly chuckle and to do a little soul searching and well, my first reply is "do you really want to know?"   The short answer is I had a horrible childhood and PR was an escape.  But the long answer... well... here's my story.  The history of Jessica Zordon Spock. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers came out in 1993. I was going on 10 years old (I'm 30 years old now) and in Mrs Welch's  4th grade class at West Elementary, the kids had been talking about this cool new tv show called Power Rangers. I had never heard of it and that day at 5pm I tuned into Fox to watch Batman the animated series, come to find out that Batman had been moved to 4:30 and the Power Rangers was shown at 5. The episode was Island of Illusion. The Rangers were trapped on this island and would disappear ...
